Beside your looking and the way you dress, people often make judgement calls by how you speak and how you act. Below are 10 things that men should know about when going out with women. Feel free to add more information by leaving comments.

Car rides: If you are riding together with a woman (in a taxi or your own car), always open her door for her. If she looks uncomfortable or tells you it’s not neccessary, tell her that you are used to it and that you enjoy doing it. Do not be dramatic or make it a big deal, it will make the woman think that you are trying to impress her.

In the lift: Always let the woman get off the lift first, gently hold the lift doors open and offer her to get off. Never walk out the lift and leave the woman behind.

In the restaurant: When approaching to table, ask the woman which side she prefers to be seated, or offer her the side that provides the better view of the restaurant, then gently pull out the chair for her. Never rest your head on your hand with elbow on the table, it is not polite and you will give the woman a feeling that you’re bored (even if you are not). Ask the woman if she would like a dessert after the meal, if she does, order yourself one as well (no matter how much you hate sweet) so that she won’t be having it alone.

Ordering: In bars/ restaurants, it’s nice to ask the woman what she wants, then make the order for her before saying yours to the waiter. Never make choices for her! And don’t try to convince her to drink more.

Splitting bills: As soon as I moved here to Canada, I noticed that it is very common in North American culture that people like to split bills, but when you ask a woman out for a date, never split the bill. Because YOU are the one who invite her out, you should pay for lunch/dinner, movie, drinks or other entertainment.

Fragrance: It is nice to wear perfume when you go out, but don’t overuse it. Spray once on neck and both wrists will be enough.

Smokers: Always light others’ cigerattes first before lighting yours.

In the mall: If you go shopping with a woman, always offer to carry their bags. But please, please, DO NOT carry their purses, it’s just simply not what a man should do, don’t ask me why, I don’t enjoy seeing men carrying their girlfriends’ purses.

Drinking: Remember to give her a toast and say “cheers” before drinking, look into her eyes until you had the first sip. Drink at the same pase as the woman, do not drink way faster than the woman and order another drink while she’s still having the first drink. Try to finish the drink at the same time then ask her if she wants another one, don’t force her.

I see many people (mostly teenagers) get drunk and become really aggressive these days, it is NOT fashionable at all. I personally love drinking, I do get drunk sometimes but I can always control my emotions and actions (which means I never shout on the streets or throw up while talking to a woman ). For some of you who can not control your actions while you’re drunk, you should learn how to improve your alcohol tolerance with these 10 tips!

1 ) The magic honey

Rumor has it – eating few spoons of honey before drinking can increase alcohol tolerance, also preventing a hang-over the next day. See what happens, and it doesn’t hurt to try if you are going to meet with a client for drinks!

2 ) Alcohol is not the best Thirst-Quencher

Yes, yes! I know it feels good to have an ice-cold beer when you’re thirsty, but your body usually takes the alcohol faster when it needs liquid. So, try to drink a glass of water first before you go for alcoholic drinks.

3 ) Never leave your stomach empty

It’s pretty basic knowledge, drinking with an empty stomach not only can get you drunk faster, it is also very bad for your body in the long-run.

4 ) Eating cheese

It’s a myth that cheese (or melted butter/olive oil) can coat your stomach and the alcohol absorption rate can be diminished.

5 ) Take Milkweed Thistle Extract

You can go to any health store or vitamin store and get Milkweed Thistle Extract, they can improve liver function.

6 ) Water

Always keep yourself hydrated! It also helps if you drink water between each alcoholic drink.

7 ) Slow beats fast

You get drunk basically because your liver is not fast enough to handle the alcohol you take. Drinking slow is more sophisticated and classy, and it’s always a key in avoiding awkward drunken situations.

8 ) A good sleep

From my experience, I have a better attitude and a better time  when I get enough (or more than enough) rest.

9 ) Do not surprise your body!

I am not encouraging you to “practice” increasing your consumption, but do not try to quit drinking for a period of time, and then occasionally hit a dozen shots of tequila and a few bottles of wine in one night!

10) Give your body a rest

If you are a heavy drinker (for whatever reasons), you will notice that you have lower alcohol tolerance after a period of time, try to slow down and stop drinking (or drink less) for a few days/weeks, give your liver a break and MAYBE  you will get back into the swing of things!

Some of the tips above are just my personal opinions, and everyone has different reactions on them. Please do NOT drink and drive!
